2014 German language courses organized by the Indo-German Educational and Cultural Society (IGECS) of Goa and follows the guidelines of Max Mueller Bhavan/Goethe Institute.
The examinations correspond to the levels of the Common European Framework of Reference, which defines a six-level scale of proficiency. The A-level denotes the elementary language skill in German Language. The levels are A1, A2, B1, B2, C1 and C2. The certification is internationally recognised. The examinations are conducted at Max Mueller Bhavan/Goethe Institute. In the case of IGECS candidates, the centre is Pune.
6th January to 3 March 2014 . The A1 Part I course was conducted by Dr. Rainer Lotz, a German national with 25 years of teaching experience at institutions in India, among them seven years at JNU New Delhi, followed by assignments at Bombay University and various colleges and companies in Goa.
14th January to 15th May 2014. The A1 Part II course conducted by Lisa Dias-Noronha, course instructor accredited by Max Mueller Bhavan/Goethe Institute, Pune.
The duration of the entire A1 course is 120 hours (160 Teaching Units of 45 minutes each) as prescribed under the Common European Framework of Reference.
The final examination was conducted on 17th May and 12th July 2014 at Max Mueller Bhavan, Pune (MMB-Pune) where eight candidates qualified to answer the examination.
01 July – December 2014: The A2 Part I & II course conducted under the same conditions stipulated by the Goethe Institute. Admission to the course was the success of the A1 examination held in May 2014. Examinations for A2 level are scheduled for December 2014. Course instructor is Lisa Dias-Noronha.
B1 – The third level course is also in progress. Admission to the course was a successful clearance of the A2 examination. Examinations for B1 level are scheduled for November 2014 at MMB-Pune. Course instructor is Lisa Dias-Noronha.
Upcoming course: Announcement:
Mid November 2014: German language for beginners, starting in the second week of November 2014. The exact date will be announced in due time. The duration of the course is 120 teaching hours of 45 minutes each and will be held on three evenings per week (Monday, Wednesday, Friday) at the premises of Alliance Francaise (AF), Altinho, Panjim. For registration and further details, please contact the office of AF (ph. 2420049). The course is priced at Rs. 12,000/-.
