‘Musik Fest’ begins at KA today

PANAJI: The 7-day Musik Fest concert series, Indo German Confluence-2, begins on Monday, at the Kala Academy, with a violin duo by Professor Ulf Klausenitzer and Hartmut Krause; they will be accompanied by Lin Lin Fan on piano. There will be a guest appearance by cellist, Rudiger Clauss.

This music festival is organised by the Indo German Educational and Cultural Society of Goa and Guitar Guild Goa (GGG), celebrating 60 years of Indo-German Friendship and the Golden Jubilee of Goa Liberation. This festival is a result of the cooperation between Nuremberg Music University and Kala Academy Goa. The violin duo consists of Professor Ulf Klausenitzer who is a leading conductor, soloist and professor at the Nuremberg Music University, Germany. Hartmut Krause his duo partner is the 1st violinist at Frankfurt Opera. They are both members of the famous Bayreuth Wagner Festival Orchestra. Lin Lin Fan of China is the accompanist. Rudiger Clauss, the principal cellist of the Frankfurt Opera will be playing the basso continuo in the baroque pieces of the concert as well as a couple of cello solos.

They will be playing works by Christoph Gluck, J S Bach, Tchaikovsky, Chabrier, Martinu and Shostakovich.

Free passes are available at Garden Central Music Studio Panaji, near Baba Travels, Furtados music shop and at the venue of the concert, Kala Academy Goa. Concert will begin at 7 p.m.
